Each one is as unique as the nuances of
your relationship. Virtually all other ministers give you a choice of two or three pre-written
ceremonies, each with a different tradition, which they customize just by
filling your names in the blanks.A published writer since age
13, I love devoting the time to YOU to completely custom-write your wedding
ceremony. You deserve that kind of attention for your wedding day!
Of course,
when we meet, I take your input to help create the tone & content that please
you & reflect who you are. Then, when I perform your wedding, you’ll have
exactly what you've always dreamed about.Whether you are of the same
faith, interfaith or cross-cultural, I have been extensively trained in the
study & appreciation of, & respect for, worldwide traditions. I have even
performed the ceremony for a bride and groom who, along with their matron of
honor and best man, were all deaf. Every word I spoke was interpreted in sign
language for those guests who were also hearing impaired.
As for religions and
cultures, you might be amazed at the "unlikely combinations" of couples for whom
I have created ceremonies. (Yes, I know that family members have to be
satisfied, too—I’m good at making everybody happy!)
You might
prefer a tone that’s religious, spiritual, romantic, fun, funny—or
any combination of those qualities. I write your ceremony in the
tone that you choose. Your ceremony will reflect what
qualities about you, as individuals & as a couple, you want to
celebrate with your guests!
You also always get final
“script approval”—the only surprises you should have on your wedding day are
good ones!
Also, remember that your
guests know one of you better than the other – so telling the Story of Your
Romance is a fabulous way to get your guests emotionally involved in why it’s so
terrific that you met, and how your falling in love was nothing short of
destiny!
Hearing your
unique history makes your guests feel a bond with you that simply isn’t created
at “cookie cutter” weddings. A custom-written ceremony helps them truly
understand, and share, the very depth of your joy. In turn, your guests form an
emotional attachment to you so that, whenever they think of you, they send you
prayers, good wishes, positive energy…everything good…throughout your marriage.
That’s a powerful way to start your lives together!
The value of Pre-Marital Counseling: Nationally, half the couples who marry, end up
divorced. My rate is significantly less than one per cent!
Pre-marital counseling is not something to be
endured—I make it fun! It’s a way to find out all the things you’re doing right
so that you can keep doing them, & to discover any unhelpful habits you may have
fallen into so that you can correct them. If there are areas that are, or could
become, a problem for you, I’ll provide you with highly practical actions
you can take to make the changes that will help. Your counseling will be as
tailored to you as your ceremony
I believe one reason “my couples” are so happy
with my services, and stay in touch with me for so many years afterward, is
because I have a Ph.D. in Counseling and, though I don’t insist on it, I
strongly encourage every couple to have a premarital counseling session.
