The first reason I think of it is that nobody on earth will give more of themselves to creating a ceremony that is totally about, and for,you.
We’ve all been to those weddings that seem like “dearly beloved, your-name-goes-here” and then it’s over & you know nothing about WHY those two people fell so deeply in love that they wanted to get married. That’s not what I think a wedding should be, or the way you want to begin your marriage.
Tell me about your love story & I’ll share with your guests—appropriately—how you went from being strangers, to meeting, to having a first date, a second date, becoming “a couple”, exchanging “The L Word”, the story of your proposal… it’s such fun for your to relive your story, & just think how much your guests—who likely know one of you much better than the other—will get such joy out of hearing what they’ve been asked to help you celebrate, & what an honor it is forthem to be part of this occasion!
When I send you a draft of your ceremony, you will have the opportunity to fine-tune it as you wish, so that you truly have the one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony of your dreams. You even choose the tone—do you want a wedding that’s romantic, spiritual, fun, pure celebration, at least partly religious, funny…or a combination of some of those tones. You tell me what you want, and that is what you’ll get.
I know that many ministers, whether or not they’ve been ordained by “real” seminaries, will offer you “personalized” ceremonies, & perhaps for slightly less money. But this is they day you commit the rest of your life to the person you love & trust the most in the world. When you work with me, you have my total attention, & my complete devotion to creating & performing exactly the ceremony of your dreams—whether, before we got together, you knew what you wanted that wedding ceremony to be.
Creating & performing one-of-a-kind weddings is one of the main reasons I chose to go into the ministry. I don’t care if you’re regular churchgoers; I know you carry your spirituality in your hearts, & I will never judge you; I will support you. And I will always be here for you to come back & ask questions get direction, regain perspective…because the other part of my ministry is as a PhD Therapeutic Counselor.
